Is it hard to stop smoking?

The simple answer is that is doesn’t have to be.

People who smoke tend to fall into three general categories: Those who want to stop smoking, and have tried to stop smoking before, but have faileThose who want to stop smoking, but have have never tried to stop smoking.Those who don’t want to stop smoking at all.

Those who have tried to stop smoking in the past

The majority of clients who come to us for a stop smoking hypnotherapy session have tried various ways of stopping smoking in the past, often with varying degrees of success.

They often find that whatever method they use, be it patches, gum, or straight-forward will-power, they will be able to stop smoking for a period of several weeks, or even months, but they always tend to go back to smoking after a while.  Stopping smoking by these methods never seems to last for them.

Every time someone stops smoking using any of these methods, and who then goes back to smoking again, is re-enforcing the belief that stopping smoking is hard.

It is often this belief that can make it even harder to stop smoking the next time round.  The belief that stopping smoking is going to be hard, can even go on to prevent them from trying to stop smoking again the next time.
